Summer Checklist for Your Vehicle

Spring is coming to an end and with it comes the start of summer. Nothing ruins a beautiful summer day more than car problems. Here’s a checklist to make sure your vehicle is ready to conquer the long, hot days of summer.

Check the Battery
Extreme heat can drain battery life. Make sure to test your battery and replace if necessary.
Oil Change
Make sure your oil and oil filter are properly changed at your recommended intervals.

Check Air Filter
Replace if dirty or clogged.

Check the Coolant
Make sure your coolant level is full and clear of contaminates.
Fill Wiper Fluid
Top off your wiper fluid to make sure you are ready to clear your windshield of any dirt, bugs, or other contaminates.

Replace the Wiper Blades
Make sure your wiper blades are up to snuff and ready for action.

Tires
Rotate your tires and fill them to proper pressure levels. Replace them if the tread is worn out.

Inspect Your Belts and Hoses
Look for cracks, fraying, leakage or swelling. Replace if you find any of these signs.

Lights - Inspect all lights and bulbs and replace if necessary. Clean off all dirt and insects from all lenses.

Clean Windows
Clean the inside and outside of all your car windows to make sure nothing impairs your view from the driver’s seat.

These simple steps will keep you on the road to a summer full of fun and adventure. If you need help, just stop on by your nearest New England Jiffy Lube. Our certified technicians will take care of your vehicle and make sure it is ready for summer.
